I'm making good progress with the first draft of Hunter's Moon, the next story in my Vampires Realm series. The hero, Nicolae, is starting to behave himself and we're seeing eye to eye at last. For a moment, I had feared he was going to become another Winter, from Winter's Kiss. He needed some serious straightening out in second draft! :)
I've also finally been able to write scenes in the heroine's, Tatyana, POV. Anyone who has read my books knows that I write close third person. I hadn't been able to write anything from her POV due to the storyline and the fact that she's fairly badly injured at the start of the book. We've had a couple of chapters with her now. I've been getting a lot of ideas for the story as I write it, and have jotted them down on my plot outline, changing the appropriate scenes. It's all starting to come together.
I probably won't finish the first draft of Hunter's Moon this week because I have a couple of other stories, non Vampires Realm, which need polishing and proofing before release in November. I'm 18,000 words into Hunter's Moon, but I think this one is probably going to be near to 40,000 words or possibly a bit more. I might get it finished by the end of next week. There's quite a lot of stuff to fit into it, even though the plot is fairly simple. It's quite emotional, like Winter's Kiss. I'm starting to wonder if all the vampire / werewolf romance stories I write are going to be more emotional than action based! I'm sure that when I write Mia and Dmitri's story, there will be plenty of action involved.
I can't wait to share some of Hunter's Moon with everyone, but I'll have to wait a while before I do that. I'm hoping that I can use a January release date for this one.
Maybe I'll interview Nicolae and Tatyana when I'm done with the first draft and share that with everyone on the blog!
Expect another update soon.
