It was great writing Seventh Circle and exploring how a vampire hunter in the Vampires Realm world would react to being forced to work with a pure blood vampire of one of the seven bloodlines she's intent on hunting and destroying. When Lincoln Vehemens shows up in her city and her home, and Lilith is told that he's her new client, she wants nothing to do with him, but as they start to work together to unravel the mysteries of the prophecy he's involved in, the mysteries of her past and her abilities begin to unravel too, revealing a truth about her that she isn't quite ready to face. The hero and heroine in this story are at war with each other from the moment they meet, but it isn't long before the game Lincoln is playing with her turns out not to be a game after all. He falls for her pretty hard, even though he knows that she's forbidden and he shouldn't want a human. There's something about her that lures him in. She's strong, beautiful, and sassy, and doesn't back down, not even when he uses every trick in his book to scare her and show her what a monster he is.
Of course, Lilith is scared of what she's feeling. She's not about to let a vampire push her around, but Lincoln is more powerful than any vampire she's met and it only adds to his allure. She soon finds herself battling her desire for him, and questioning everything she knows about vampires. She's always been convinced that vampires don't have feelings, but whenever she looks at Lincoln, she can see the fear in his eyes, and the growing desire.
Seventh Circle really is a story about learning to know someone yourself, and not pigeon-holing people because of their upbringing or species in this case. It's a very strong romance, one that will have you on the edge of your seat throughout the book, and I think the ending is pure romance too.
It was also great writing Seventh Circle because it gave me a chance to explore other elements and bring in new things, like the circles of Hell and angels, and mythological demons that actually exist. It's a story of good and evil, God versus the Devil, and how one man's soul can be the key to the birth of the antichrist and destruction of our world.
Oh, and it gave me a chance to catch up with Prophecy, Valentine and Venturi after their showdown at the end of their book. Everyone who has read the Prophecy Trilogy - do you remember Prophecy meeting Lincoln by chance in Prague in the third book? Well, this is your chance to find out what happened to him and why he was on the run!
